Responsibilities

This 2 Day workshop aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and insights on Dementia – the disease process, signs & symptoms, the impact on persons with dementia and their caregivers.  Learners will acquire effective skills & techniques to support them in their care for persons with dementia in their daily living and activities, enhancing their quality of lives.  They will also learn about self-care techniques and  useful community resources

1) Understanding Dementia – the disease, types, signs & symptoms & impact of dementia on persons with dementia in their daily living and activities
2) Support & assist persons with dementia in their care needs through Person-centred Care approach
3) Engage and interact with persons with dementia through effective communication techniques
4) Identify and manage behaviours of concerns in persons with dementia
5) Enriching lives of persons with dementia through social activities & engagement
6) Self-care for Caregivers
